Neighbourhood Watch Week
28 October – 3 November 2024

Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) is a community led safety and awareness program – working in partnership with police – to build safer, more confident, and interconnected communities to actively reduce fear of crime and increase feelings of safety in the community. These outcomes are achieved through raising awareness and providing education in effective ways to prevent crime, reduce social isolation and to increase the safety, security, and quality of life for everyone in the community.

Neighbourhood Watch Week is one of our most significant annual calendar events – an enduring and well-respected week-long tradition showcasing Neighbourhood Watch in Australia and Neighbourhood Support NZ groups and crime prevention initiatives to the community.

Hundreds of Neighbourhood Watch members and volunteers simultaneously conduct events in their local communities across Australia and New Zealand – raising public awareness of the benefits of belonging to a local Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) group and encouraging participation in NHW programs.

NHW Week 2024 will take place 28 October – 3 November.

Here’s some ways you can get involved:

  • BBQ/Fundraisers
  • One-way number plate theft prevention security screw installations
  • Tool engraving and UV property marking
  • Home security information
  • Crime prevention information

If you’re new to NHW, consider joining your local NHW group
, or think about starting a group in your area, and help make your community a safer, more connected place for all.
