The milestone celebration brought together community members, volunteers, performers, partners and supporters to recognise a decade of service dedicated to safety, inclusion and community connection.

Since its establishment, NHWACS has played a vital role in supporting culturally and linguistically diverse communities across Western Australia by strengthening crime prevention awareness, encouraging community participation and fostering positive relationships between residents, local government and police. The anniversary event showcased the diversity and unity that define NHWACS. Guests were treated to a colourful cultural program featuring performances from multiple communities, including traditional dance, music and intergenerational presentations that reflected the rich cultural fabric of the region. The performances were met with enthusiastic applause and highlighted how culture can be a powerful bridge for understanding and connection.

A key highlight of the event was the recognition of volunteers, community leaders and partners who have contributed to NHWACS’s success over the past decade. Certificates of appreciation were presented to acknowledge the dedication, commitment and leadership of individuals who continue to strengthen community safety and cohesion. Their contributions have been instrumental in building trust, resilience and shared responsibility within neighbourhoods.

The celebration was proudly supported by the City of Canning and attended by representatives from NHW, local police and community organisations. With strong attendance and participation, the event reflected the ongoing relevance and impact of NHWACS’s work.

As NHWACS looks ahead, the organisation remains committed to building safer neighbourhoods, empowering diverse communities and continuing to serve as a bridge between cultures, services and the wider community. The 10th Anniversary celebration was not only a reflection on past achievements, but a renewed commitment to the years ahead.
