Attendees at the ACT Members Forum presented by NHW Hawker/Weetangera Area Coordinator Melissa Ricketts.

The session supported members to develop practical skills to produce flyers, newsletters, presentations, and social media content that promote NHW activities and strengthen community engagement, without the need for design experience.

Led by Hawker/Weetangera NHW Area Coordinator Melissa Ricketts, the forum provided a guided introduction to Canva’s basic features, including simple templates, colour choices, and layout tools to create professional-looking materials. The session demonstrated how these tools can save time and support consistent messaging across NHW communications.

NHW ACT Facebook Coordinator Sharon Leigh-Hazell also shared how Canva is used by the ACT Facebook team to support regular safety messaging and maintain community interest. She encouraged local NHW groups to explore using simple digital tools including Canva, to support their communication.

The forum reinforced NHW ACT’s commitment to supporting members with practical skills that enhance communication, confidence, and community connection.
