QPS Assistant Commissioner, Kev Guteridge; QPS Leading Senior Constable, Todd Armstrong; and QPS Acting Assistant Commissioner, Southern Region, Kerry Johnson.

The award was presented at a Kumbia Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) gathering by Queensland Police Service (QPS) Assistant Commissioner Kev Guteridge and Acting Assistant Commissioner of the Southern Region, Kerry Johnson.

As the first Kumbia Officer in Charge to receive this honour, the local NHW group ensured the occasion was both meaningful and reflective of the community’s pride in his achievement.

The evening highlighted the importance of strong, respectful relationships between police and the communities they serve.

Both Commissioners spoke with members about their own experiences working in regional areas and the value of community connection in effective policing. The event also included light-hearted moments, reinforcing that community policing is built on approachability, teamwork, and mutual respect.

The presentation marked an important moment for Kumbia NHW and reinforced the shared commitment between police and the community working together to create safer neighbourhoods.

Congratulations to Leading Senior Constable Todd Armstrong on this recognition, and thanks to the Commissioners for their support.
