Farrer NHW volunteers at the Family Fun Day held during NHW Week.

The event was delivered through strong collaboration between NHW, local organisations, schools, businesses, and police. A full program of activities, including balloon twisting, face painting, craft activities, live music, and a community sausage sizzle, created a welcoming environment that encouraged families and neighbours to spend time together. The green and white twenty-first anniversary cake and the Lucky Neighbour raffle added to the sense of shared celebration.

The NHW stand was a focal point throughout the day, with residents accessing home and personal safety information, alongside resources from Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Policing and Crime Stoppers. These conversations highlighted the value of trusted partnerships in delivering practical, accessible safety advice to the community.

Support from local Farrer businesses, Farrer Primary School, Farrer Residents Association, Farrer Goodwin Village, Tuggeranong Arts Centre, the Tuggeranong Valley Band, ACT NHW, and ACT Policing was central to the event’s success. Their involvement demonstrated the strength of local collaboration in supporting safer, more connected neighbourhoods.

The milestone celebration reflected the strong partnerships that have underpinned Farrer NHW for more than two decades and reinforced its ongoing commitment to working alongside the community to build a safer and more connected suburb.
