2018 Neighbourhood Watch Queensland – State Conference

The conference was held at the Southport Sharks event centre and MC’d by the extremely suave and debonair Superintendent Mark Plath. Official guests included the Honourable Mark Ryan – Minister for Police and Minister for Corrective Services, Cr Tom Tate – Mayor of the City of the Gold Coast, and Commissioner Ian Stewart.

The highlight of the conference was the awards ceremony, where our community members and police liaison officers were recognised for their commitment to their local communities. Congratulations to all our district award winners.

The State Awards for ‘Community Member of the Year 2018’ went to Carol Clare from the Moreton District, and the police ‘Liaison Officer of the Year 2018’ went to Senior Constable Ben Harm from South Brisbane District. Again, congratulations to these two outstanding members.

Over 200 delegates enjoyed a great range of presenters who covered some interesting and well received topics. For the first time ever, the event was Live Streamed with the videos now available for viewing at www.webevent.com.au/nwq.
