On Monday 10th October 2011, Minister Brendan O’Connor announced $1.5 million in funding under the Proceeds of Crime Act for Neighbourhood Watch Australasia.
A proportion of this funding is awarded to help Neighbourhood Watch groups continue to engage and strengthen local communities, promote the exchange of information and further build partnerships between the police, local communities and government; enabling safer and vibrant communities.
Neighbourhood Watch Australasia is currently working with its Strategic Partners and the Attorney General’s Department to develop a NHWA Community Funding Program. It is anticipated that the NHWA Community Funding Program process will become available in the first quarter of 2012.
