National Road Safety Week

Approximately 1200 people are killed and another 44,000* are seriously injured on Australian roads every year, with traffic injury the biggest killer of Australian children under 15 and the second-biggest killer of all Australians aged between 15 and 24.

National Road Safety Week is an annual initiative from the Safer Australian Roads and Highways (SARAH) Group, partnering road safety organisations and Government, highlighting the impact of road trauma and ways to reduce it - encouraging motorists to Drive So Others Survive!

National Volunteer Week

National Child Protection Week

National Child Protection Week (NCPW) is an annual event that encourages all Australians to engage and play their part to promote the safety and well-being of all children in our communities. For over 30 years, the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN) has coordinated the NCPW campaign - providing information, resources and support to communities to act on the core message, “protecting children is everyone’s business”. The Streetsmart Handbook is a practical life guide for 16 and 17 year old school leavers that is designed to help prepare today's youth for life after school - covering important topics from sexual health and the effects of drug and alcohol abuse to legal rights and applying for a loan. Neighbourhood Watch Week

NHW Week aims to raise public awareness of NHW and the benefits of belonging to a local Neighbourhood Watch group. Hundreds of Neighbourhood Watch members and volunteers conduct events in their local communities across Australia and New Zealand - get involved and help make your community a safer, more connected place for all. NHW Week 2024 will take place Monday 28 October – Sunday 3 November.

Safer Internet Day

Safer Internet Day is a global initiative to raise awareness of online safety issues, to educate people about online safety risks, like online abuse, how to be safe online and where to go for help. The eSafety Commissioner is encouraging Australians to take three simple actions when approaching online safety: Connect. Reflect. Protect. By doing these things and sharing the Connect. Reflect. Protect message, we can work towards making every day a Safer Internet Day.
